Coordinated operation was carried out for 5 days in the territory of the CSTO member states. The activities of drug traffickers suppressed, illicit traffic of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, weapons, ammunition were subjected to seizures. The purpose of the operation is blocking channels of drug smuggling from Afghanistan and China on the territory of the CSTO member states, the suppression of the harvesting and the export of drugs from Shu Valley, etc.
The IV International competition decathlon championship for canine units of customs services of CIS member states held in Almaty from 6 to 10 October 2014. In the the competition took part representatives from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Belarus, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Moldova and Kazakhstan.

The interior ministers will be informed about the work on projects of State Programmes and joint measures to combat crime in 2014 - 2018 and the Programme of cooperation in the fight against illicit drug trafficking, psychotropic substances and their precursors trafficking and counteraction to drug addiction in 2014 - 2018 years. The Council of Ministers of the Interior (SMI) was established in 1996 to ensure the interoperability of the CIS countries in the fight against crime and policing. It is composed of representatives of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine. Representatives of Turkmenistan participate in certain meetings of SMI.
